Health

Health including nutrition is a key sector that contributes to the overall socioeconomic development of any state. Odisha is doing comparatively well in comparison to other EAG states in reducing the infant Mortality Rate (IMR), Maternal Mortality Rate (MMR) and Total Fertility Rate (TFR) ... , but still regional disparities persist in terms of availability of and accessibility to health care especially in the tribal areas.
The major focus in the proposal approved by OMBADC for the Health & Family Welfare department and Women & Child Welfare department is on improving infrastructure and human resources, improving nutrition outcomes, maternal and child health, rhealthcing instances of non-communicable diseases through improved access to health care. As a cross cutting measure, increased emphasis will be given on involvement of community for generating awareness on services through improved interdepartmental convergence and enhanced focus on Behaviour Change Communication (BCC) activities.
